After both having extra time off, the Jordan Beetdiggers and the Pine View Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Jordan and Murray had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Beetdiggers fell 3-1 to the Spartans on Thursday. The Beetdiggers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
While Jordan ultimately came up short, they really made Murray work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 17-25, 25-14, 26-24.
Isabel Ramos Rincon put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 12 digs.
Dixie came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Pine View, but Genevieve Evans wouldn't allow it. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Flyers on Thursday with plenty of help from Evans, who had 25 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Pine View had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 15-25, 27-25, 25-23, 35-33.
Pine View's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 14-13. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.
Jordan came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine View in their previous meeting back in August of 2023, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Beetdiggers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
