Basketball Recap: Pierce Drops Highest Score of Season Against Clarkson/Leigh

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pierce). They blew past the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots 70-30 on Tuesday. The Bluejays pushed the score to 53-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots had little chance of recovering from.

When it comes to explaining why Clarkson/Leigh lost, don't look at Korbin Lemburg. Despite the final result, he posted ten points and six boards.

Pierce has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Clarkson/Leigh, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bluejays coming up. Pierce is facing Guardian Angels Central Catholic at the right time seeing as Guardian Angels Central Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will square off against Stanton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
