Baseball Recap: Liberty Christian Takes a Loss

Liberty Christian had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it five. They came up short against the Wes-Del Warriors, falling 11-3. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Liberty Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Groover, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Groover has brought in this season.

As for Wes-Del, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6. Considering they have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Wes-Del's side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Summers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The Warriors are undefeated when Summers posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Eli Sherfy was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Liberty Christian will head out to square off against Seton Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wes-Del, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-2 defeat against Kokomo on the 26th.
