Volleyball Recap: Slidell Beats Dutchtown for Their Fifth Straight Win

Slidell had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Dutchtown Griffins. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Slidell never let Dutchtown on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.

Ava Barduca paced Slidell's offense, picking up 14 kills. Barduca got some help from Ava Labat and her 28 assists. Finally, Emma Pippenger kept Slidell's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Slidell's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Dutchtown, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8.

Slidell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Catholic - N.I. on the 4th. As for Dutchtown, they will take on Lutcher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
