Meanwhile, Southampton Academy got themselves on the board against Halifax Academy on Monday, but Halifax Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Vikings. Ayden Darden made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Webb, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Tyler Jarratt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Southampton Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halifax Academy only managed five hits.
Southampton Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for TEACH Homeschool, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
