Carlinville's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones a 7-0 shutout. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Carlinville's record now sits at 9-5. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Carlinville will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Piasa Birds will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they will take on Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
