Basketball Recap: River Falls Comes Up Short

River Falls lost against Eau Claire Memorial back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The River Falls Wildcats took a blow against the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes, falling 75-36. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Old Abes are ranked 30th).

River Falls dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Eau Claire Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the River Falls Wildcats duke it out with the Chippewa Falls Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Falls is facing Chippewa Falls at the right time seeing as Chippewa Falls is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they will challenge New Richmond at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eau Claire Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
