Volleyball Game Preview: Ascent Classical Academy Guardians vs. William Smith Eagles

The Ascent Classical Academy Guardians are taking a road trip to square off against the William Smith Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ascent Classical Academy has five straight victories, William Smith has 20 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Ascent Classical Academy made easy work of Liberty Tree Academy and carried off a 3-0 win.

Ascent Classical Academy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Liberty Tree Academy to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-8.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when William Smith took on Vanguard Classical East on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Hawks, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-8.

Ascent Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for William Smith, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Ascent Classical Academy beat William Smith 2-0 in their previous matchup on September 6th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Guardians since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
