Softball Recap: Lake Weir Takes a Loss

Lake Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Merritt Island Mustangs.

Kyra Rigozzi made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. Kelsey Buncie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Merritt Island, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Lake Weir has already played their next game, a 10-6 loss against South Sumter on the 29th. As for Merritt Island, they will head out to take on Viera at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Viera will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Merritt Island surely won't give up without a fight.
