South Dade took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Southridge Spartans as the South Dade Buccaneers made off with an 18-1 win. The Buccaneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.
A. Guedes was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Guedes was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, A. Zamora was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. R. Eichler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Coming up, South Dade will take on Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southridge, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Southwest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
