Terry Sanford had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They secured a 47-41 W over the Topsail Pirates on Friday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 47-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

Jacob Moore was a one-man wrecking crew for Terry Sanford as he rushed for 120 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 213 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes. 95 of those passing yards were hauled in by Christian Carter, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
