Softball Recap: Mission Oak Takes a Loss

Mission Oak had taken Tulare Western down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Hawks fell 11-8 to the Mustangs. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mya Ortega was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Journee Hernandez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

Mission Oak has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season. As for Tulare Western, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2-1.

Mission Oak didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-2 victory against Lemoore on the 9th. As for Tulare Western, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-7 loss against Dinuba on the 9th.
