Baseball Game Preview: Northridge Knights vs. Latin Romans

Northridge hasn't had much luck against Latin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Knights will take on the Romans at 11:00 a.m. Northridge will be strutting in after a win while Latin will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Northridge made easy work of Waukegan and carried off an 11-2 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Latin didn't have quite enough to beat Ridgewood on Friday and fell 5-4. The loss put an end to the Romans' undefeated start to the season.

Karim Patterson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. John Rose was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Northridge and bumps their season record up to 7-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Latin, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Northridge couldn't quite finish off Latin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
