Softball Recap: Olivia Hayhurst's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern over Allegany

After flying high against Preston on Friday, Southern came back down to earth. The Rams wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Campers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Thursday.

Southern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Hayhurst, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Southern has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Allegany, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Coincidentally, Southern and Allegany will both be playing Northern Garrett the next time they take the field. The Campers will head out to face the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
