Clyde-Savannah took a 16-run defeat the last time they faced off against East Rochester, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Golden Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bombers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since April 23rd.

Taylor Carnevale spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, Larissa Walters and Rori Hickok did most of the damage at the plate: Walters went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Hickok went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Hickok's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Cronin, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Clyde-Savannah's win bumped their record up to 4-12-1. As for East Rochester, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Clyde-Savannah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Rochester, they are taking a road trip to challenge Finney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
