Palatine hadn't done well against Fremd recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Vikings 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Vikings on April 5th, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Palatine got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 24-26, 25-22.

Palatine's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-10. As for Fremd, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Coincidentally, Palatine and Fremd will both be playing South Elgin the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Pirates will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
