Recap: Emery Spartans vs. Beaver Beavers
The Emery Spartans's game on Friday was all tied up 32-32 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 63-52 to Beaver. Emery was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Beaver apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Emery's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katelyn Nielson, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was Nielson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kenadie Maughan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Emery has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Beaver, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emery and Juab will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Juab focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Beaver, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome North Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. North Sevier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Beaver is ranked 11th).
