It was a proper cat-fight when Hartington-Newcastle challenged Osmond on Saturday. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tigers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Hartington-Newcastle never let Osmond on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18.

Ella Eickhoff paced Hartington-Newcastle's offense, picking up nine kills. Eickhoff got some help from Lainey Morten and her 16 assists. Vayda Lippert controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Hartington-Newcastle picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Osmond, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Hartington-Newcastle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Randolph on the 8th. Osmond has also already played their next game (against Bloomfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
