Recap: Canutillo Eagles vs. Parkland Matadors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hanks, the Canutillo Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-25 win over Parkland. Given Canutillo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while Parkland is ranked 1370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Mia Lopez, who scored six points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Perez, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Canutillo's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Parkland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Canutillo will be playing at home against Burges at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burges is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Parkland, they will challenge Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
