Ryle is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will head out to take on the Boone County Rebels at 5:00 p.m. Ryle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Ryle was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Scott on Saturday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Korlin Rechtin and Kam Patterson did most of the damage at the plate: Rechtin scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Patterson scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Patterson has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rayne Patsel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Ryle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Boone County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to Tates Creek.
Boone County's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ryle, their record now sits at 3-1-1.
Ryle couldn't quite finish off Boone County when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
