Baseball Recap: Middlesboro Yellowjackets vs. Bell County Bobcats

Middlesboro had lost 17 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-14 to make it 18. They lost 16-4 to the Bell County Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Monday.

As for Bell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Bell County's part, they got a massive performance out of Jackson Walters, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Walters continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Mason Sziksai also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middlesboro will challenge Lynn Camp at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bell County, they will face off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
