Baseball Recap: Livingston Central Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Livingston Central challenged Trigg County on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell 5-0 to the Wildcats. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Livingston Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Zaim, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Livingston Central has also been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Trigg County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Coming up, Livingston Central will head out to face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Maroons have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Trigg County, they will host Caldwell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
