Baseball Recap: Parsons Comes Up Short

Parsons was the 7-0 winner over Cherryvale when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Chargers on Thursday, falling 15-3. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Parsons saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Heitman, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Heitman has got this season. Connor Largent was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Parsons' record now sits at 2-7. As for Cherryvale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parsons will take on Chanute at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherryvale, they will be playing at home against Fredonia on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
