Softball Game Preview: Tug Valley Panthers vs. Sherman Tide

Tug Valley is 2-8 against Sherman since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Panthers will challenge the Tide at 10:00 a.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tug Valley came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Huntington, falling 10-4.

Bailee Hall made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Hall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sherman lost 11-4 to Scott on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Tide have lost by exactly seven runs.

Tug Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Sherman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Tug Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Sherman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Tide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
