Softball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

St. Ignatius College Preparatory put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Homestead Mustangs by a score of 7-4. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cassidy Chew was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Julie Galarza was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Gianna Galarza was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Homestead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, St. Ignatius College Preparatory will welcome Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Homestead, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
