Baseball Recap: Indian Springs Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Indian Springs got themselves on the board against Woodlawn on Thursday, but Woodlawn never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Woodlawn Colonels with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Student, who have now won three matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Eason Zheng looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Indian Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Bermudez, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Zaid Budhwani was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Indian Springs pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Woodlawn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Indian Springs will be playing at home against Victory Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Indian Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Victory Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Woodlawn, they will challenge Huffman at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
