Baseball Recap: Rosemead Wins Going Away Against El Monte

It was a proper cat-fight when Rosemead challenged El Monte on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Logan Mojica was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Rosemead: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Gonzalez, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Rosemead's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for El Monte, they are on a 35-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.
