After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mohave Accelerated, Kingman Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Emily Mathys was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Brady Sanders and Taylee Mote did most of the damage at the plate: Sanders went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Mote scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That triple was Sanders' first of the season. Gabby Zubia was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Coming up, Kingman Academy will host Bagdad at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
