Softball Game Preview: Gibraltar Vikings vs. Algoma Wolves

Gibraltar is 0-7 against Algoma since April of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vikings will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. Gibraltar has given up an average of 17.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gibraltar is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to Sevastopol. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

Courtney Foy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Abby Jarosh also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Algoma, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They had just enough and edged out Southern Door 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Gibraltar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Algoma, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.
