Basketball Recap: John Paul II Takes a Loss

John Paul II was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 56-32 to the Hebbronville Longhorns.

Hebbronville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Carrillo, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Gomez, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hebbronville, they moved to 5-7 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

John Paul II didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-27 loss against Incarnate Word Academy on the 16th. As for Hebbronville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 84-45 defeat against St. Augustine on the 17th.
