Basketball Game Preview: Brooks County Trojans vs. Madison County Cowboys

Brooks County is 0-4 against Madison County since November of 2014 but things could change on Monday. The Brooks County Trojans will host the Madison County Cowboys at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Brooks County lost to Turner County at home by a 65-49 margin. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Titans are ranked 233rd).

Meanwhile, Madison County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-58 victory over the Bulldogs.

Brooks County better keep an eye on Louis Gaddy Jr. He was instrumental in Madison County's win, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 24 boards. Gaddy Jr is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Micah Newman, who posted 11 points.

Madison County's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Brooks County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
