Baseball Recap: Whitehall Victorious

While Whitehall's victory against Allentown Central Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Zephyrs won by a run and slipped past the Vikings 5-4. The Zephyrs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jack Lloyd made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Nik Christman looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Whitehall is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jules Alatzas, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donato Brigidi, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Whitehall's record now sits at 5-3. As for Allentown Central Catholic, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Whitehall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Nazareth Area on the 15th. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against East Stroudsburg South on the 11th.
