Conestoga Christian dropped their record down to 8-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers by a score of 5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sawyer Barnett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Lancaster Mennonite, they moved to 4-9 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 8, 2024.

On Lancaster Mennonite's side, they got a great performance from Jackson Snader as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Snader is becoming a predictor of the Blazers' success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Westin Rhine, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Kinney, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian will face off against Shalom Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lancaster Mennonite, they will square off against Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
