Basketball Game Preview: Chemawa Indian Braves vs. Western Christian Pioneers

Chemawa Indian is 0-9 against Western Christian since December of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chemawa Indian Braves will square off against the Western Christian Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.

Chemawa Indian is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They took a blow against Kennedy, falling 78-33. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Western Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 63-53 victory over the Saints. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Saints are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Western Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Chemawa Indian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Chemawa Indian took a serious blow against Western Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 70-39. Can Chemawa Indian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
