Volleyball Recap: Torres Comes Up Short

Torres was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Maywood Academy Nighthawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Maywood Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.

Torres' defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Maywood Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Torres will take on rival Marquez at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Maywood Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Maywood CES at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
