West Hills scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Grossmont Foothillers, falling 48-27. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Foothillers are ranked 230th).

When it comes to explaining why West Hills lost, don't look at Evin Dill. Despite the final result, he rushed for 64 yards and one TD, and also threw for 92 yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Tyler Holmes, who threw for 292 yards and four TDs while completing 76% of his passes for Grossmont. The dominant performance also gave Holmes a new career-high in passer rating (153.7). 85 of Holmes' passing yards were hauled in by Dallin Mackay.

West Hills' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6. As for Grossmont, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, West Hills will welcome Santana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Grossmont, they will head out to face off against El Cajon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Foothillers are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
