Safford hasn't had much luck against Sabino recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Safford will head out to take on Sabino at 5:00 p.m. Safford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Safford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Rincon/University by a score of 9-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carlos Arbizo made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Safford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Arbizo wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Goodman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Goodman has posted since back in March of 2024.

Safford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Sabino, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Safford's way against Sabino when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Safford made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Safford since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
