Baseball Recap: Incline Comes Up Short

Incline lost against North Tahoe back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Incline Highlanders came up short against the North Tahoe Lakers, falling 9-2.

Incline saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Briggs, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Tate Gitchell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Incline's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Tahoe, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-3.

The future could be bright for both Incline and North Tahoe: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Incline will try to hand Pershing County their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Incline has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Meanwhile, North Tahoe will look to extend Sierra Lutheran's seven-game losing streak when they meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
