Softball Preview: Seymour Indians vs. Illini West Chargers
The Seymour Indians will square off against the Illini West Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Seymour fell victim to Calhoun and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost seven in a row.
Illini West never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bushnell-Prairie City on Monday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 16-2 victory. That looming 16-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chargers yet this season.
Hattie Wood looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Natalie Wibbell was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Shutwell, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Illini West, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16.
