Basketball Recap: Alamo Navajo Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Alamo Navajo waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Quemado Eagles by a score of 71-60. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-51 back in December of 2024.

Alamo Navajo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andy Pino led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Pino continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Zephaniah Guerro was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Alamo Navajo's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points over those games. As for Quemado, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alamo Navajo will host Hondo Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quemado, they will welcome Cliff at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
