Volleyball Recap: Albany Has No Trouble Against Pierz

Albany won the last time they faced Pierz and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies blew past the Pioneers 3-0.

One reason for the win was Albany's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-16.

Brynn Panek paced Albany's offense, picking up 14 kills. Panek got some help from Lillian VanHeel and her 30 assists. Panek also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Katie Brickweg, racking up two apiece.

Albany's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Pierz, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Albany will host East Grand Forks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pierz, they will challenge Maple Lake at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
