League recap: Amherst-Pelham Regional stuns Putnam Vo-Tech in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Putnam Vo-Tech, who took down 112th ranked Putnam Vo-Tech, 28-20.

Amherst-Pelham Regional moved up to 176 from 205 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Suburban. The Hurricanes climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Beavers 28-20.

T.J. Fitzell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In five carries, he ran for 201 yards as South Hadley bested Cathedral. Bryan Shippee also contributed to the rushing game with 130 yards on the ground.

Putnam Vo-Tech's Kajuan Bynum and Rishawn Harris have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bynum has thrown for 995 yards this season, while Harris, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 20 catches for 376 yards. The Tigers' Fitzell leads the league in rushing yards with 717.

A big matchup in Suburban this week will be when Amherst-Pelham Regional takes on Chicopee. Glenn Jackson's team is in fourth place, while the Pacers are in third place.

South Hadley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Panthers, 67-16. The victory was the fifth in a row for Eric Scammons' team.
