Softball Recap: Fort Bend Hightower's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fort Bend Hightower had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 15-2 margin over the Fort Bend Clements Rangers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Baylee Bonner was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Jada Valdez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Fort Bend Hightower's record now sits at 11-1-2. As for Fort Bend Clements, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Fort Bend Hightower and Fort Bend Austin will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. Fort Bend Austin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.45 runs per game on average), something Fort Bend Hightower will no doubt try to take advantage of. Fort Bend Clements will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Bend Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on March 21st.
