Eric Perez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played.
In other batting news, Jacob Garcia was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Angel Sanchez was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Buckley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon.
Dylan Katz led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Buckley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7-1 otherwise. Oren Rubin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Buckley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. As for Lakeview Charter, their record is now 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lakeview Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Buckley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
