Baseball Recap: Monroe Central Takes a Loss

Monroe Central came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Shadyside Tigers by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The Seminoles' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Monroe Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Prestin Binegar, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Brayden Baker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Monroe Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Shadyside, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Monroe Central will welcome Union Local at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shadyside, they will venture away from home to face off against Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
