Softball Game Preview: York Cougars vs. A.C. Flora Falcons

The York Cougars will challenge the A.C. Flora Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

A.C. Flora will be up against a hot York team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Cougars blew past Camden 11-2 on Thursday. Considering the Cougars have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Brooks made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Emma Sutton was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.

York was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camden only posted a batting average of .083.

Lancaster hit A.C. Flora with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 11-10.

York's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for A.C. Flora, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 17-5.

York was able to grind out a solid victory over A.C. Flora when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 7-4. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
