After a string of six wins, Mile High Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Front Range Baptist Falcons. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Mile High Academy ultimately came up short, they really made Front Range Baptist work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 26-28, 25-23, 25-21.

Lia Zachawerus paced Mile High Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Zachawerus got some help from Alaina Hickman and her 12 assists. Zachawerus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Front Range Baptist was led to victory by Leni Dorfeld and Emma Gerrard. Dorfeld had 17 kills, five aces, and one block, while Gerrard had 18 kills and three blocks. Dorfeld is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Mile High Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Front Range Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Mile High Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Campion Academy on the 11th. As for Front Range Baptist, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Beth Eden Baptist on the 10th.
