Basketball Recap: Westlake Piles Up the Points Against Calvert

Westlake had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Calvert Cavaliers, posting a 69-31 win. With that victory, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Westlake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Coaster out in front who posted 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Coaster a new career-high in assists (four). Israel Warner was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and six blocks.

Westlake's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Calvert, they dropped their record down to 1-16-1 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Westlake will venture away from home to face off against Great Mills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Great Mills will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calvert, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against La Plata at 6:30 p.m. Calvert is facing La Plata at the right time seeing as La Plata is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
