Basketball Game Preview: Superior Central Cougars vs. Carney-Nadeau Wolves

Superior Central is 0-10 against Carney-Nadeau since February of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Superior Central Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Carney-Nadeau Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Superior Central is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were dealt a 61-12 defeat at the hands of Munising. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Carney-Nadeau lost to Bark River-Harris on the road by a 45-31 margin on Thursday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carney-Nadeau's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Superior Central, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Superior Central took a serious blow against Carney-Nadeau in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 55-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Carney-Nadeau's Mariska Laurila, who dropped a triple-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals.
