Volleyball Recap: The Colony Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when The Colony took on Reedy on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost nine in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-10.

Triniti Reagor paced The Colony's offense, picking up three kills. Reagor got some help from Teagan Hubbard and her six assists. Finally, Turner Gonzalez kept The Colony's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Reedy can attribute much of their success to Paige Hawkinson, who had 16 assists and five aces. That's the most aces Hawkinson has posted over her last six contests.

The Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 9-24. As for Reedy, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-10.

The Colony didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Newman Smith on the 14th. As for Reedy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Lone Star on the 14th.
